Why Spectron IR

Fully Integrated Workstation:

  • Remote-controlled, motor-driven camera height adjustment that travels from the floor to 6 feet while providing fast image acquisitions and less patient stress, especially with full body imaging.

    Training / Education

    Back and Neck pain

Education is one of the most important aspects of thermography. There are certain standards that should be met in order for the thermographic information to be valid. A certified thermographic technician receives training in the use, procedure, and handling of thermographic equipment as well as patient procedures and protocols.

    Why settle for less?

Medical Thermography entails the use of highly detailed and sensitive infrared images of the human body using highly specialized and sensitive thermographic cameras. These infrared cameras are sensitive to the detection of electromagnetic energy (light) in the infrared wavelengths (heat). The data received by the infrared camera is processed through a sophisticated computer producing a topographic heat map display which bears a resemblance to the visible image of the body. The person has no contact with the remote sensing system; nothing harms the individual under investigation as there is no use of radiation or intravenous access. When the camera’s detectors sense the incoming infrared heat an electrical signal is produced that generates a visible image display. Applied in the clinical environment as an aid in the diagnostic process, medical thermography is used for the thermal analysis of patients with various conditions in acute, chronic, and preventative health care. Modern computerized thermography produces an accurate and reproducible high-resolution thermal image that can be analyzed both qualitatively and quantitatively for minute changes in skin surface heat emissions. The procedure is painless, completely safe, and FDA approved as an adjunctive imaging procedure

Spectron IR’s FDA indications for use include:
adjunctive diagnostic screening for the detection of breast cancer, peripheral vascular disease, neuromusculoskeletal disorders, extracranial cerebral and facial vascular disease, thyroid gland abnormalities, and various other neoplastic, metabolic and inflammatory conditions.
    FDA 510(k) #K032471

Use of the Spectron IR system is not intended to be a sole diagnostic procedure for these diseases and conditions.
